Where to order food in Amsterdam?
Are you hungover, lazy or just don't feel like cooking? Don't worry! Ordering food in Amsterdam is fantastic. Nowhere in the Netherlands will you find such a wide variety of cuisines and providers as here. The two most popular delivery services you can choose from are Thuisbezorgd and UberEats. You may wonder about Deliveroo - they also deliver in the city, but unfortunately, they stopped operating in the Netherlands on November 30, 2022. Thuisbezorgd and UberEats are very similar, but there are some slight differences.
Thuisbezorgd
Thuisbezorgd is the Netherlands' largest restaurant home delivery service. You simply enter your location, choose a restaurant and order food in their app, then quickly pay and have your food delivered right away. Thuisbezorgd also offer grocery delivery from Albert Heijn, Spar City, Shell en Marqt. You can even order drinks and snacks from several shops! The app could work a little smoother, but the prices are reasonable, and the delivery is fast.
UberEats
UberEats often has slightly more expensive restaurants available for you to choose from. It also has a lot of exclusive agreements with restaurants like SLA, The Butcher, Back, Bar Kauffmann and Sushi Only. You can even order treats from the Champagne & Caviar Club or Greek groceries like wine, beer & olive oil from Bakaliko Amsterdam. You can also let Liquor or spirits be delivered to your doorstep. The app's user interface is straightforward and uncluttered, making it a breeze. This is a fantastic app if you want to try out new restaurants in your area. It can quickly determine your dietary preferences and make recommendations for new restaurants based on those preferences. It also has an excellent tracking system where you can witness your food delivery process like never before.
