A no-pressure guide to wrap up December on a positive note

The last month of 2025 is here, and with deadlines, holidays, and a packed social calendar, the end-of-year pressure is definitely a thing. But here’s the good news: you can finish the year on a positive note without needing everything to be perfect.

To help you, we’ve collected tips and little rituals from students (plus a few ideas from us) that make ending 2025 feel lighter, warmer, and more like yours. No “new year, new me” panic. Just simple ways to close out the year with a bit more connection and joy. Here we go:

1. Make December smaller

During a month when everything speeds up, try doing fewer things on purpose. We all know that feeling: you say yes to plans because they sound fun (or because you don’t want to miss out), and then suddenly your calendar is full, and you’re tired before the week even starts.

So, here’s your permission slip: it’s okay to skip a gym session if your body is asking for rest. It’s fine to order takeaway if cooking feels like a task too many. And it’s more than okay to make your social life simpler. Study together. Grab a quick coffee. Join a sports class.

This way, you’re creating space in December. And that space usually fills up anyway, just with better things. :)

2. Create one kind ritual

Still judging yourself for not having the perfect evening routine? Or for not following your workout plan exactly as you imagined? Toss that idea out the window, 'cause we’re leaving perfectionism in 2025.

Instead, pick one small ritual that makes you feel a little more in control… but in a kind way. The goal is not to “fix your life” this last month, but to add something that genuinely feels good. It can be simple, like preparing your favorite dish, a catch-up walk with a friend (we recommend bringing hot choc), or a moment of reflection with a cup of tea. The secret here is consistency; it’s not about punishing yourself into discipline but about creating moments that carry you through hectic times.

3. Start a tiny end-of-year challenge

Want to end the year with a bang? You totally can! And no, that doesn’t mean making a dramatic plan to turn your whole life upside down (who sticks to that, anyway). Real change is created in small things that boost your mood and make your days feel lighter.

Create a minchallenge for this month but make sure to keep it manageable. Think of it like this: it should make you feel better, not like you need to punish yourself. Here are some ideas:

  • Send an appreciation message to some of your best friends and let them know what you’ve been grateful for.
  • Want to move more? Try going for 10.000 steps 7 times this month (or less, or more – whatever fits your life). The goal is movement, not perfection.
  • Plan the things you keep saying you’ll do it. Whether it’s a pottery class, a day trip or an event; say yes, just because it makes you genuinely excited.
  • Leave behind one energy-drainer. Tidy one messy corner of your room, finally return a package, unsubscribe from an email, or clean out that chair that’s turned into a second wardrobe.
  • Give yourself one nice thing a day. A hot shower, a nap, a delicious pastry; every tiny joy counts.

No pressure to transform your life before the fireworks. Just collect a few good moments, rest when you need it, and head into 2026 feeling a bit lighter. You’ve got this.
