2-day itinerary for Granada

Visiting Granada for the weekend? We've put together a 2-day itinerary so you can get to know Granada in the best way possible. From indulging in traditional Spanish dishes to exploring the historic streets and monuments, this guide will help you create unforgettable memories and make you want to stay in Granada a lot longer...

Day 1

Morning:

Energize yourself with a good breakfast before you head into town. Fortunately, Granada has many delicious restaurants serving excellent, traditional Spanish breakfasts. A typical Andalusian breakfast is a tostada. At some restaurants, you can order a tostada and select a few of your favorite toppings. Other restaurants have a fixed menu. The best thing is that they are all very affordable. Order a café con leche alongside it, and you're good to go!
After breakfast, it's time to explore this beautiful city. You can choose to spend some hours getting lost in all the cute streets and alleys (which is a great option if you like to be spontaneous!), but if you want to make sure you don't miss any of the highlights, you can also book a free walking tour.

Afternoon:

Do you need a sweet pick-me-up after exploring the city? Fulfill your sugar cravings with traditional Spanish Churros! This delicious snack, made from fried dough and dipped in hot chocolate or dulce de leche, will definitely hit the spot. Take advantage of a visit to one of the best churro spots in Granada: Cafeteria Alhambra. Get some yummy coffee afterward at one of these specialty coffee places around Granada.

Evening:

Enjoy the sunset from Mirador San Nicolas. This square is one of the most touristy places in the city, which is not strange since the view is breathtaking. You'll see the city of Granada, the Alhambra, and even the snow-capped peaks of Sierra Nevada.
After this, it's time to enjoy the live flamenco shows, which can be found all around town. Some of the best places for flamenco performances are Casa ANA and El Templo del Flamenco.

Day 2

Morning:

Start the day with an extensive and filling breakfast at D'SANO, and make sure this one fuels you enough to explore the most important monument of Granada: the Alhambra. This UNESCO World Heritage site is worth your time, so schedule enough time to see it. We recommend around 3 hours. The Alhambra is one of Spain's most visited monuments; many people come to Granada just to see the Alhambra.
Because of this, booking your tickets ahead of time is necessary! You can visit the monument alone, but a guided tour may be better for you if you want to learn about the incredible history.

Afternoon:

After your morning of exploration, it's time for a good lunch. You're in luck because the tapas culture in Granada is fantastic. You'll get a small complementary tapa in many places when you order a drink. And if you order from their daily tapas menu, don't be surprised by the large (and delicious!) portions. Still trying to figure out where to go? Try out one of these mouthwatering options.

Evening:

By now, you've probably hit your 10K steps (or even 20K!), so you deserve some relaxation at one of the many Arab bath houses called Hammams. Here, you can enjoy various spa treatments and traditional Moorish rituals, such as oil massages and cleaning rituals. Finish your relaxing session with a visit to a traditional tea house, where you can sip aromatic blends of Moroccan tea.

Of course, there's much more to see and do in Granada, and it's an especially great place to go for your studies! In this vibrant city, you will definitely have the best student life. Considering staying at Student Experience Granada? You can now book a free tour (online or in-person).
